Yet another outstanding translation from Ravi Belagere. The original (which is in English) was a bit lengthy, so I thought of reading the Kannada version first. The book documents the hardships an Indian soldier had to face during the Indo-Sino War of 1962. 

The book, is kind of, provoking! I had heard many say, once you read the book, you'll start hating Nehru, and just as predicted, I began hating him from page one itself. Please don't mind!

You'll surely appreciate the courage of an Indian soldier, and you'll also criticize the government for its arrogance and ignorance. How can you expect anyone to perform the assigned work efficiently even when there is a lack of basic necessities? This sounds really absurd...!

Overall, a must read if you are a freak of military history.

ಪುಸ್ತಕ, ಒಂದು ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ, ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪ್ರಚೋದಿಸುತ್ತದೆ! ನೀವು ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಓದಿದರೆ, ನೆಹರೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸುತ್ತೀರಿ ಎಂದು ಹಲವರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಊಹಿಸಿದಂತೆ, ನಾನು ಮೊದಲ ಪುಟದಿಂದಲೇ ಅವರನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದೆ. ನನ್ನ ಅನಿಸಿಕೆ ಅಷ್ಟೇ!
